Obama Up in Texas

Here’s the first poll showing him leading in one of the key the March 4 states. It’s an outlier, to be sure, but here’s Pollster.com’s trend graph:


As I’ve said before, the Obama campaign has an uncanny knack for managing the momentum of this race. He manages to be behind in every race right up until the last minute, and then he pulls ahead. It’s a risky strategy, because if the momentum is off by 12 or 24 hours, he’ll lose or face a frontrunner backlash.

But given the trend lines, and the fact that March 4 is still 2 1/2 weeks away, and the fact that key Clinton superdelegates seem to be having second thoughts, it seems to me like everything’s going according to plan.
